  • Basic Functions & Responsibilities

    This position serves as the functional expert for new and existing applications and is the primary liaison between the functional users and software engineers. Principal responsibilities include gathering and validating business requirements, coordinating and performing testing, creating systems documentation and test scripts, and providing training to functional staff.

    Information Systems Analyst Functions


    1. Work with internal stakeholders to gather and validate business requirements and assist with the functional design of software solutions.
    2. Document business requirements at the appropriate level of detail for each work effort.
    3. Work with the Software Architect and Engineering Manager and IT Project Portfolio Manager to ensure business requirements are in alignment with scope and resourcing constraints.
    4. Work with the Software Development Team to provide input into the functional aspects of software solutions.
    5. Establish and maintain traceability of requirements through engineering phases.
    6. Develop, or assist in the development of, end-user training materials, coordinate and conduct end-user training.
    7. Lead the creation and writing of user documentation, instructions, and procedures by working with business subject matter experts.


    Quality Assurance Analyst Functions

    1. Support and facilitate testing efforts for multiple projects and software releases, including regression, and user-acceptance testing.
    2. Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
    3. Document and evaluate test results, track and manage defects, and work with the Software Development Team and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot issues.
    4. Provide testing estimates for assigned work.
    5. Establish and maintain traceability of requirements through testing.
    6. Partner with stakeholders to ensure requirements are documented, understood, testable, and accurately tested.
    7. Track and report on QA metrics.
    8. Work with teams without a QA representative to communicate, implement, and adopt applicable testing practices and expectations.
    9. Collaborate with the Software Development Team to develop, implement, and improve innovative QA capabilities, approaches, and services.


    Qualifications, Training and Experience

    1. Associate Degree in CIS, BIS, Business, or related field is required, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, AND,
    2. 4+ years of related work experience is required, AND
    3. Demonstrated process mapping, requirements gathering, and user acceptance testing experience, OR,
    4. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
