    9:00am - 12:00pm Monday, 1:00pm - 9:30pm Tuesday, 1:00pm - 8:30pm Thursday and occasional Saturday mornings dependant on class schedules. Flexibility in schedule may be required.
    Labor Grade/Zone: C1 - $16.22 per hour

    Position will be posted for a minimum of five days and will remain open until the needs of the position are met
    Shift Differential:
    $.54 per hour for the entire shift if 50% or more of the hours worked fall between 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
  • Basic Functions & Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for providing outstanding service to students, instructors, and general public in the community by providing customer information and knowledge of all aspects of the college, admissions and application process, programs, school policies and billing practices.

    Essential Job Functions


    1. Serves as the initial customer service contact, providing in-depth detailed information on all FVTC programs, waiting lists, short courses and services available, including financial aid and registration services, which require understanding the programs, courses and services of FVTC.
    2. Serves as primary contract for third party billing customers for classes and governmental agencies to include but not limited to: TRA/TAA, WIA, DVR, etc. Maintain contact list of these individuals as well as all necessary correspondence between the agency and the college.
    3. Maintain center data bases of current information to include contacts as necessary.
    4. Assesses students’ needs, provide direct assistance and advise potential, new and currently enrolled students concerning an integrated enrollment process.
    5. Administer and monitor student testing and interpret college entrance assessment as well as monitor and distribute all material for ITV/IP and correspondence/internet material.
    6. Serve as the center instructional contact by assisting both instructor and student in all necessary information. This may involve room set up, supplies, assist with ITV/IP classes as well as administer and interpret the college entrance exam and proctor FVTC tests.
    7. Process registrations, serve as school cashier. Open/close cashier office, balance/reconcile daily collection. Create bank deposit slip. Verify all center deposit slips and make bank deposit.
    8. Verify and process class rosters to ensure that all student information is current. Update information and enter grades from the instructor.
    9. Serves as liaison to the Certified Nursing Program.
    10. Provide hospitality for contracts as necessary.
    11. Responsible for determining nature of emergency messages and following proper procedure to contact student. In the absence of the manager, serves as the security personnel at the outreach location including emergency evacuations, and maintain center activities.
    12. Disarms the building at the start of the day and/or secures and arm the building at the end of the day. Ensure that the facility is fully functional at all times. This includes temperature, cleanliness, rooms set up or tear down, computer equipment including the cleaning of labs and offices and trouble shooting before calling for IT support, Xerox equipment and all other office equipment, safety, or make manager aware or contact the appropriate person in the College.


    Secondary Job Functions


    1. Cross-train in all regional center functions.
    2. Contribute ideas to, and help develop new initiatives including new courses, etc. in an effort to expand the regional center offering and presence in the community.
    3. Willingness to travel to off site locations for class registration and book sale.
    4. Provide assistance in contracting to include hospitality, room set up, instructor support, etc.
    5. Proctor and schedule exams for other educational entities.


    Qualifications, Training and Experience


    1. Associate degree in Administrative Assistant or related field, AND
    2. Two years of recent relevant office and customer service experience, OR
    3. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
    4. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Proficiency in PeopleSoft is preferred.
