  • Basic Functions & Responsibilities

    Fox Valley Technical College is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to assist in CPR and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) training courses. This position is responsible for assisting the lead instructor in conducting EMS courses at FVTC facilities and other locations throughout the district. Duties include setting up and tearing down for practical evolutions and assisting the lead instructor with teaching skills as requested. This is a great opportunity and first steps for anyone desiring to lead EMS classes.

    Essential Job Functions/Secondary Job Functions

    1. Provide support for assigned classes.
    2. Assist the lead instructor in small group practical skills learning.
    3. Identify students needing assistance and refer students to the lead instructor.
    4. Where applicable, ensure safety and sanitation of equipment and supplies
    5. Operate EMS equipment and apparatus.
    6. Create a classroom environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism.
    7. Assist in the enforcement of college regulations and report student conduct violations.
    8. Remain current with the Wisconsin EMS Standards & Procedures of Practical Skills Manual.

    Qualifications, Training and Experience

    1. Possess a current Wisconsin DHS EMS License (EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic).
    2. Possess or be eligible for a WI EMS Instructor 1 license.
    3. Minimum of two years of EMS experience at the applicants currently held EMS license level.
