  • Basic Functions & Responsibilities

    As a member of the Student Life team, you will work to develop stronger partnerships between Fox Valley Technical College and community organizations.  The main purpose of your position will be to find creative ways to unite faculty, staff, and students with volunteer opportunities taking place in and around the Fox Valley Community.

     

    The Student Life Americorps Member is a volunteer-based position with bi-weekly living stipends. Americorps offers health, dental and vision benefits as well as forbearance on federal student loans and interest accrual payments at the successful end of term. They also offer childcare assistance (if needed and if qualified - income based).  Total extrinsic benefits per year for an AmeriCorps member is approximately $23,584.18+. 

     

    VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

    Must successfully complete a criminal background check, reference check and be able to complete hours necessary for the service term.

    Essential Job Functions/Secondary Job Functions

    Essential Job Functions:

    1. Market, recruit, create and co-advise Student Volunteer organization.
    2. Assist Student Organizations and other college areas and departments with planning & execution events including FVTC (faculty, staff and student) as volunteers.
    3. Design and manage a satisfaction method for tracking volunteer & site satisfaction.
    4. Organize, secure and promote volunteer opportunities within the organization and community.
    5. Identify community outreach opportunities such as fairs, markets etc. then develop and regularly update a calendar conveying opportunities to volunteers
    6. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications, Training and Experience

    1. Marshfield Clinic Health System AmeriCorps members must be at least 19 years old by September 11, 2018 (no exceptions).
    2. Must have a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED), or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
    3. Must pass background check.
    4. Ability to serve up to 12 months.
