  • Basic Functions & Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for planning and coordinating Employment Connections fairs and the development, planning and implementation of Employment Connections activities through social media channels. This position will also assist in the development of the Employment Connections marketing plan for employers, students, graduates and staff and will be directly responsible for implementing the action items in the Employment Connections marketing plan.

    Essential Job Functions/Secondary Job Functions




    1. Participate in the development of an Employment Connections marketing plan for employers, students, graduates and FVTC staff by promoting our services, activities and events. 
    2. Develop and execute a direct employer communication strategy, so that employers are aware of the services offered by Employment Connections and are engaged in the hiring of FVTC students and graduates. 
    3. Promote Employment Connections to employers and HR professionals by inviting them to Fox Valley Technical College for individual meetings, large group presentations and lunch and learn sessions, and contact and visit employers that are relocating or expanding their workforce in the FVTC district.
    4. Development, copywriting, design and layout of Employment Connections promotional materials including brochures, flyers, signs, email marketing, and web pages. Maintain and update Employment Connections website pages.
    5. Provide key support to the Employment Connections staff in promoting Employment Connections events and activities to students and alumni.
    6. Develop, plan, coordinate and promote multiple Employment Connections career and job fairs
    7. Provide daily direct customer service to students, staff, outside agencies, and the general public. Directs and assists students in their search for employment and career related information. Provides technical assistance/troubleshooting to students on the use of the computer work stations, software applications, and internet sites.
    8. Responsible for developing, planning, and sending out an Employment Connections newsletter three times a year to employers and FVTC staff.
    9. Maintain the Employment Connections Facebook page, and ongoing research and develop new opportunities to connect with students, employers and staff through social media.  Responsible for implementing the action items in the Employment Connections marketing plan.
    10. Develop strategies using the Wisconsin TechConnect database to promote and maintain current and prospective employer customers.
    11. Create and maintain a master Employment Connections promotional schedule to coordinate the distribution of all promotional messages, events and signage. 


    1. Proofread materials sent by Employment Connections to external/internal customers.
    2. Present office resources and services to various student groups

    Qualifications, Training and Experience



    1. Associate Degree in Meeting and Events Management, Marketing, or Business Management AND,
    2. Two years of recent, related experience in promotion, event planning, and social media marketing, OR,
    3. An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
    4. Knowledge of Web page development software, social media, database maintenance, and email marketing programs is required.
    5. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Publisher, and Excel is required.
